There is a really well presented presentation by a gentleman Nader Mansour about who God is and after reading this message I decided to write my own adding in more verses of Scripture, please go here and read what Nader Mansour has to say about the subject, here.

If you are a christian it means that you have to believe that there are three persons in one and that the trinity is Biblical and it is probably the best described in the website links below, all you do is click on each word trinity and it will take you to a different website that explains the trinity, or attempts to do so. Once you have read up on the subject then return and read the rest of this post as it will then become clear to you, and that will be clear about what is Biblical and God’s truth without assumptions.

Firstly we will look at the christian assumption that is called the trinity and how it causes difficulties when challenged. If you hold to the assumption that there are three persons that are one as an equation it is rather impossible to comprehend and even less comprehensible to explain.

1+1+1 = 1

And this is then where the christian will say two things as to persuade you that you are not able to understand it.

1. Only those indwelled by the Holy Ghost can understand it.

2. The mysteries of God are so great that man can simply not comprehend it.

Both these are a cop out as there is no Biblical evidence where God explains, preaches or even suggests the doctrine of the trinity in His word at all. Nowhere does God say that this doctrine will not be able to be understood by man and then turns and says unless you are indwelt by His Holy Ghost, nowhere in Scripture!

This leads us to an even more direct problem in scripture and that is if you hold to the doctrine of the trinity then the verses of John 1:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

This verse would then read as follows when made trinitarian in nature:

In the beginning was the Son, and the Son was with God, and the Son was God.

Then as a trinitarian verse two will be:

The same was in the beginning with God. John 1:2

The Son was in the beginning with God.

And that brings you to the trinitarian fallacy:

All things were made by the Son; and without the Son was not anything made that was made.

Nowhere in Scripture before the birth of the flesh through Mary and the Word taking on flesh is there any reference to the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, nowhere. There is Old Testament verses that talk about a Child that will be born and that His name will be, Immanuel. Now the name Immanuel means “God with us” and that is proof that we cannot change the verses above or we will be blaspheming God as the flesh has not been added and the Word had not taken on the flesh yet.

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isa 7:14

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Mat 1:23

This brings us to the verse that tells us that the Word took on flesh, but if you are a trinitarian then this verse makes no sense as you say that the Son was with God at the laying of the foundation of the earth, therefore according to the trinitarians the verse should read as such:

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14

For the trinitarian this verse should then read:

And the Son was made flesh and dwelt amongst us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

If you can still say that the doctrine of the trinity is true then let’s look at two of the “most compelling” verses of evidence that is given to us by the trinitarians.

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Gen 1:26

So who was God speaking to, the Spirit of God on that was moving upon the face of the waters or was it to His Word, because we already saw that the Son was not present as the flesh had not been born yet and the Word had not taken on flesh yet. So who was God speaking to, was there any one other than God there, and if you as a trinitarian say that God spoke to His word then you have another problem and that is in the following verses but I list only two as reference and you can read the rest:

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Gen 1:3

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. Gen 1:6

So according to the doctrine of the trinity these verses should read as follows, and remember that God is speaking to His Son/Word and Holy Ghost according to the doctrine of the trinity:

And God said, go forth my Son/Word and create light, and the Son/Word did it……

And God said, go my Son/Word and create firmament……..

Now was there other beings present at the laying of the foundations of the earth and heaven that God was creating, and yes there where and not only were they present they worshiped God while He was speaking the creation into existence, and they where the sons of God the angels of God as we see in the verses below:

Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Job 38:4

Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Job 38:5

Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; Job 38:6

When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Job 38:7

There is no need to twist the Scripture of God unless you wish to preach a different Gospel, and if indeed this is your aim then you are a false prophet and should be brought to light and held to task.

If your premise of understanding is skewed from the start then your doctrine is tainted and not worth the breath wasted on it. So if all is put together then the following verse that the trinitarians use is the verse:

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Mat 28:19

This is a go to verse for the trinitarians and they will say that see this proves that there are three persons in the Godhead and these three are one and they are God. This verse is not about God, the nature of God, the structure of God or anything else related to God accept the commandment of God as how to perform baptism, it is about baptism and that alone and if you read into it you are twisting, writhing and slithering along quite nicely.

But thank you for raising this verse because now we can see what and who God is and how was man created in the likeness of God and to the image of God. Now please take note that you are in the image of God and in likeness to God and the angles in heaven as he was speaking to them and we saw that in Job.

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Gen 1:26

So we know that God is a Spirit and should be served in the spirit and that we are commanded to do so, with that said we also know that there are other dimensions of God that we see in the way we were made and in that there is one difference and that is that we are spirit and flesh. So let’s see the image:

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24

So what is the likeness of God that man was created in, well we see that in the Scripture and it is undeniable that this is what we are in the image of God, and at the same time it shows us what we are not when it comes to our relation with God’s image, no we are NOT little gods!

God is:

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1Jo 5:7

I will be making a statement that God has a soul and to prove this I will now add a verse where God speaks in the Old Testament that proves that God has a soul:

Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear [them]. Isa 1:14

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 1Co 2:13

So God is:

Soul = the Father

Word = the Word of God

Spirit = the Holy Ghost of God

And therefore we see that God is Spirit and must be served in such and that man is made in this image with a few differences and we will see those with Biblical reference.

Firstly we have to acknowledge that the Word of God is alive, that the Word of God can create and reveal God to us.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Heb 4:12

NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psa 119:105

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 1Co 2:13

Man is:

Soul = man the living soul

Word = your word

Spirit = the fruits that you bear and are known by

This is the image of God that we have been created in, you are a soul and that is the life that God breathed into you, and then you speak and your word brings you to account on judgment day, and lastly by your spirit will you be tested and known. And all of this is in spirit and in the likeness of God while there is one difference that we will look at next.

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Gen 2:7

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1Jo 4:1

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. Mat 12:36

So if we are to believe the doctrine of the trinity and the fact that we are made in the image and likeness of God then there is you the soul, another person your word and a third person your spirit and they all make you the man, 1+1+1 = 1.

So let’s look at the difference in our makeup when it comes to being created:

Like God you are Spirit and that is:

1. Soul

2. Word

3. Spirit

But unlike God we have to add the last part that makes you man and that is your flesh, the body that you were given. And yes this is where the difference comes in and it is like this:

1. Soul = you as a man

2. Word = you speaking your mind and thoughts, revealing what you think.

3. Spirit = you that people can see in your actions and know your heart and what you stand for.

4. Body = the fleshly vessel that is known and recognized by others, John, Andrew, Jane, Mary, etc.

Number four is where the difference is at, and God all through the Old Testament gave this spirit being in a fleshly vessel the chance to worship God and because God gave man a will it all went wrong and man could not please God. God then takes it upon Himself to show man how to do it and what He, God expects from us but at the same time gracefully gives us an out in the saviour Lord Jesus Christ, and here we see God take on flesh.

This is where God become as man to teach us and save us from ourselves, God full of mercy and grace:

1. Soul = the Father

2. Word = the Word of God spoken and revealed

3. Spirit = the Holy Ghost our teacher as we are led by the comforter

4. Body = the flesh born of the Virgin Mary, and the Word of God taking on the flesh and dwelling amongst us. The flesh known as, Immanuel, Messiah, Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace, etc.

So if you follow closely in the Scripture then you will see that if you can see that God is not three persons in one same as you are not three persons in one, and you are made in the spiritual image of God and after the Word of God took on flesh your image are now complete and you have Jesus to follow in Word and in flesh as revealed in the how to guide that Jesus left for us in the New Testament. For God is one as He declares throughout the Scriptures and His Word is not another person but the actual Word that He speaks and these words have power and where our spirit reveal us for what we are the Spirit of God because God is Holy and Just, the Spirit of God leads us to the truth.

Now that is the mystery of God and not the twisted doctrine of the trinity!
